PREPARE A COMPLETE FILE
Business Funding Document Checklist: Prepare a Complete File
A complete file moves faster because fewer facts need to be chased, corrected or reinterpreted. Use this checklist to organize the request before secure submission.
Security: Do not send sensitive information by ordinary email or enter it on a public marketing page.

Bank-Statement Completeness Checklist
- Include every page for every required month and material operating account.
- Use official statement PDFs—not cropped screenshots.
- Confirm the account holder and statement period match the application.
- Include all accounts used to receive operating revenue.
- Preserve transaction descriptions, dates and balances.
- Identify transfers between disclosed accounts to avoid double-counting.
- Do not alter, combine or rename files in a misleading way.
- Verify every file opens and is readable before submission.
Why every operating account matters: reviewing only one account can distort revenue, balances, transfers and existing payment obligations.
Build a Credible, Consistent Request
Existing Obligations
- Provider or creditor name
- Current balance or payoff amount
- Payment amount and cadence
- Origination and expected maturity
- Collateral or lien information
- Recent payoff or renewal documentation
Disclosing obligations does not automatically disqualify a business. Omissions can damage file credibility.
Use of Funds
- Specific business purpose
- Amount allocated to each major use
- Timing of the need
- Expected business impact
- Repayment source
- Whether the request replaces existing financing
- Supporting equipment, invoices, real estate, contracts or purchase orders
Product-Specific Additions

Document Checklist FAQ
Are three bank statements always enough?
Three recent complete statements are Sierra’s standard starting package. Certain jurisdictions, products, providers or fact patterns may require additional months or accounts.
Can I submit screenshots from online banking?
Official statement PDFs are generally more complete and reliable. Screenshots often omit page numbers, ownership, balances or transaction context.
Do I need every business account?
Provide every material operating account requested through the authorized process. Omitting accounts can create an incomplete or misleading view.
Are tax returns always required?
No. Requirements vary. Bank, SBA, real-estate or larger structured requests may require tax returns and financial statements.
Is my application an approval?
No. Submission authorizes review. Capital providers independently determine eligibility and terms after verification and underwriting.
